This really pissed me off. After being struck by a Jeep and thrown 20 feet off my mountain bike This community service officer showed up in the ER to give me a ticket for allegedly having no visible lights on my bike. That’s not the problem here. What the problem is the fact that Mister Gordon refused to identify himself after repeated queries to what his name was. Any officer of the law, be it full bore FHP, FDLE, County, City, or this – whatever it is – community service officer… If you are wearing a uniform, and are asked your name… YOU GIVE IT. No questions asked… No hesitation… Video phone or not. This isn’t the only place where CSO Gordon failed. The person who struck me had alcohol on his breath, I made him aware of that fact and his response was that by the time that he could get a operator for a breathalyzer the due would not be legally drunk. I advised Mr. Gordon that Zephyrhills had a working and certified breathalyzer and a trained and certified breathalyzer operator on duty and available at the time. Again he did nothing. Whats the outcome of this? I beat the ticket. I had photographs of my bike under the Jeep with the head and tail lights still operating. CSO Gordon did not show up for court.
